Automobile accidents are a hassle for all parties involved. Over half a million occur in Texas alone each year1. Accident rates continue to increase with the advancement of technology and the relatively new development of cell phones. Whether instigated by a phone, or a plethora of other variants, distracted driving accounts for roughly one in five of all automobile accidents in Texas1 which is nearly four times the rate of accidents caused by an under the influence driver1. Some of the most dangerous things you can engage in while driving is drinking, eating, and smoking which increases the risk of a crash by an astounding eighty percent1. In addition, it has been estimated that every two minutes an individual is injured in a car accident in Texas2.

Firework Injuries
On average nearly 13,000 people are injured by fireworks every year. There are several explanations as to why ranging from a simple lack of knowledge on how to properly ignite them to uncontrollable factors such as the weather. However, the majority of firework injuries occur when people are impaired by drugs or alcohol. According to a 2019 fireworks report, it was stated that 66% of all firework injuries occurred in the month of July due to the 4th of July holiday. [I] When fireworks go array, the most common type of firework injuries are burn-related.
Pros and Cons of the Texas Constitutional Carry Law
On June 16, 2021, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1927, known colloquially as the “Constitutional Carry” bill, into law. Starting on Sept. 1, 2021, Texans 21 and over will no longer need a license to carry a pistol (openly or concealed) as long as they are not already excluded from firearm possession by another State or Federal law. Previously, Texans were required to obtain a state-issued license which required training, a proficiency exam, and a background check. With the passage of this law, Texas will become the 20th state, as well as the largest state, to dispense with these requirements.

Causes of Pressure Cooker Explosions and How to Avoid Them
A pressure cooker is a sealed cooking vessel that uses high pressure to increase the boiling point of liquids. This allows food to cook more quickly and with less water and energy than with standard cooking methods. However, pressure cookers can be dangerous. Manufacturing defects and design defects are frequently the cause of pressure cooker explosions. Some common injuries from pressure cooker use are steam burns, contact burns, splashed/spilled hot liquids, and explosions. However, proper use can minimize the risk of these types of injuries when using a pressure cooker.
