Meant to house the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers along with being the future spot for the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff Championship, World Cup, and Olympics, this venue now holds a different meaning for those who knew Juan Becerra.
Juan, a native of Brownsville, Texas and former oilfield worker, was carrying ratchet straps when he made his way onto a roof panel that was improperly secured causing him to fall 120 feet to his death. A coworker, and witness to Juan’s death, is haunted by the fall. He no longer can work on job sites with heights and has nightmares about the incident. However, the people who are the most impacted by the loss of Juan are his family.
Juan had three children who now have to grow up without a father including two teenage daughters. The girls are now trying to navigate a life that is flooded with the grief of losing their dad. Each day little things remind them that their dad is not there. The girls are now trying to navigate a life that is flooded with the grief of losing their father in such a tragic event, which is something no child should have to endure. Although the SoFi stadium is a place of celebration to most, the SoFi stadium will forever be remembered as the place that took their father’s life.
Mikal Watts, Frank Guerra, Jorge Mares, and Rebecca Page, Attorneys at our firm, are currently representing his teenage daughters to help them receive justice for their father’s premature death. When asked about the case, Jorge Mares went on to say, “This, like any loss of life, was a tragic, but preventable, event. Through the litigation, we intend to provide our clients with the answers and clarity that they deserve regarding their father’s untimely passing.”

Minor distractions like eating or changing the radio can lead to major problems, but drivers who use an in-cab computer or their mobile phone while driving are playing a deadly game. Companies that refuse to eliminate a driver’s use of technology while driving are guilty of negligence.
